Disappointment

We heard you could go see where they fill the Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloons. So we walked down Central Park to check it out. Unfortunately.......

...so did everyone else in New York. This line extended even a few blocks past this picture. So we saw the balloons from afar. Nobody complained.

The disappointing part was trying to get out of there. Everything was blocked off and the police had everyone going in one direction. It was packed shoulder to shoulder. It took us at least an hour to walk two blocks back to the subway. We held on to our kids' hands and didn't let go.

Going Home...

This is us on taking the Subway back to Grand Central Station. We were all soooooooooooo tired of walking.

Show Night!!!!

Jessica finally made it to the performance night of her big show!! She has been going to practices after school 3 days a week. It's been a time crunch with all the homework but she has done a great job and really grown up. Her show was a musical about a superhero convention. They used all kinds of songs from Broadway to Rock. She soloed the opening lines of Reflection from Mulan. It's just too bad she couldn't have sung the whole thing. She was born to sing it. This is her and the rest of the crazy cast in the dressing room waiting. Jessica has the unfortunate lot of being the daughter of a woman who took lots of drama classes. The make-up is supposed to be heavy!! You couldn't see anyone elses makeup from the audience--consequently, you couldn't really see their facial features either.

The cast was entirely made up of 5th and 6th graders. I wish you could have seen the whole show, they sounded great for every song but Reflection. Reflection was the only slow ballad-type song and so they were also singing very soft--it was hard to hear them but the red ribbons were pretty. We do have some video that we might be able to put on the blogger! (We shall see). Look for it on Thanksgiving Day!!!!

Halloween

Corey and some school buddies. Corey wanted to be Count Duku. (?) I don't know why, but all he needed was a black cape and a light saber, so--no problem!This is Megan and her teacher. Megan had already changed out of her costume. This is Jack and his teacher, his teacher looks like Bruce Willis.

I think this costume was real leather! It wouldn't have surprised me.

This is Corey and his teacher--I mean his spider. A regal queen and an Arabian Princess,

and Darth Maul.

Corey and Jack went trick or treating with their friends Nick and Dylan. They made a haul. They will be spastic for days.Actually, between the ward trunk-or-treat, trick-or-treating and not having hardly any trick-or-treaters come by our house, we have soooooooooo much candy laying around that I want to throw up! This is not helping my childrens appetites. What am I thinking??? What possesses me to think that we should grab huge buckets, and walk around the neighborhood collecting CANDY? We already buy plenty of candy on our own, we don't need to collect it from everyone else by the bucketfulls!!!!! This is equal to poking myself in the eye! I get the image of the chubby kid that Willy Wonka took to his factory that was always stuffing his face with chocolate. (Sigh) Oh well, I'm sure history will repeat itself--they will eat too much candy, get into trouble acting like spazoids and then it will all get confiscated before they can finish it. No worries. And yes, we will do it again next year because it's fun!#!&*%!
